Another Auction?

Yes, I went to another auction last night.  I know, I know, it might be starting to become a problem.  But don’t worry, I am not actually a hoarder and these things are not for me. Okay, some of them are for me. But more on that another time…

There are lots of pictures and they are taken in the garage.  It was too much big stuff to try to bring it in.  So, I froze my tush off to take a few pictures before time got away from me.

So here is a run through…

Berry Baskets and a tool box…

A creel, net and knife (the knife was just part of the package).  These are going right into my Adirondack styled guest room.  Not the knife though, I don’t think you need a knife in the bedroom.

A Trumeau mirror.  Yes, it is upside down but I am not going to complain that my husband unpacked the truck for me.

january and auction finds 014

I am a sucker for an old box.  This one is huge and white and chippy, sigh.

january and auction finds 015

Love this, I don’t know, lets call it a bookcase.  It is made of old chippy wood and a zinc back and roof.  A true one of a kind.  I went to come home with her.

january and auction finds 016

An amazing coffee table made from rough hewn lumber.

january and auction finds 017

Some interesting old light covers.

january and auction finds 019

A mantel.

january and auction finds 020

Two amazing old benches.

january and auction finds 022

Another old box, less lovely but still cool.  She was filled with lots of cool stuff.

january and auction finds 023

An old cart and an extra wheel was included in case I get a flat.

january and auction finds 024

This time I got the mortar and the pestle, a rolling pin, a galvanized scoop and a pulley.

january and auction finds 025

Some tin stuff and some amazing old spools.

january and auction finds 026

Another great old box.  Can you tell I have a weakness for old boxes?

january and auction finds 027

Some other fun stuff.

And some more.  The bells ring so beautifully.

january and auction finds 030

I think if I bring this Victorian letter holder back to the original black, she will be beautiful once again.

january and auction finds 031

A lovely rabbit and squirrel.

january and auction finds 033

And just to show you, sometimes I get caught up in the moment and way overpay for something that is actually quite ugly.  Ugh.

january and auction finds 032

So, I know I still have not put together my giveaway yet, but I promise I have not forgotten.  The good news is now I am going to add something from this lot to make it even better.  Stay with me, I promise it is coming!

Have a great weekend. I am off to straighten up my house and that it is off to dinner for Mom’s birthday.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Oh, and I will be sharing this at a few of the parties on my sidebar.

Take care,

Laura

What a great group of items! I want to go to an auction with you! Wow, I've never seen that many great things at one auction.
Now you can use that cart for all your loot at the next auction!

Dearest Laura, I am having some SERIOUS envy right now! Can I come stay in this Adirondack room of yours and go to some of these auctions with you? ;) I don't know what is my favorite, too many to pick. I will sit patiently and wait to see what you do with it, I KNOW it will be scrumptious!

Nice haul. I'm coming to the Hudson Valley for a auction. The auctions get mighty thin this time of year around here (PA)and that is where we buy alot of our inventory for our booth at the antique mall and our antique shows. Have a good weekend.

Hi Laura, this is my first visit to your blog, and I was blown away at all the great things you bought at the auction. I sure it was a good time! My favorite is the white divided box which would look awesome in my home.

Love your blog...and LOVE LOVE LOVE your auction haul! I'm an auction addict, but we have a nine-month old at home, so I didn't get to a lot of auctions over the summer. This spring, he will be big enough to go with me! It will be fun to have a new auction buddy. Is harness racer part of an old weathervane? Or is he a stand-alone piece? I've been looking for one of those forever! Good work!
